About

The College Library is as old as the College itself which took off in 1958.  The Library began from Surulere, Onitolo in Lagos at the then Advanced Teachers’ College.  When the College moved in 1982, the Library moved with it to Otto/Ijanikin.  The Library was formerly housed at today’s AOCOED International School (AIS), Otto/Ijanikin.
The current Library Complex of 750m2 with a sitting capacity of 305 was completed in October 2002.  Due to the constraint of space to facilitate other library services, the College approached and got financial support from TETFUND to construct the on-going 650-seater Library extension. The Library currently has five professional Librarians and two Para-professionals. With the emergence of Information Communication Technology (ICT), the Library has also joined the info- world of electronic books and journals accessible through the internet in the e-library; established in 2010.  With the aim of serving our degree students better, the College Library has changed from Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) to Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system.  The Library maintains the tradition of organizing Orientation and Library tours for all students.  This is intended to further refresh and sharpen their skills in effective identification and retrieval of information resources.
