About
The School of Early Childhood and Primary Education (SECPED) was established as a response to the policy directive contained in the 2012 edition of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) Minimum Standard.  The NCCE 2012 edition, classified teacher education programmes into six areas of specialization, including Early Childhood and Primary Education.

Rising from a Capacity Enhancement Workshop sponsored by the College (AOCOED) on the interpretation of the NCCE document, the Management of the College, through the Academic Board, approved the establishment of the School of Early Childhood and Primary Education from the 2013/2014 session.  Precisely on the 14th of April, 2014, the Provost appointed a substantive Dean, Dr. G.O. Olaogun, to head the newly established School.  The School has two Departments namely:

Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE); and
Primary Education (PED)
